"Hmph! We are Gogeta! Kakarot and Vegeta have merged together to take Broly down!"
— Gogeta introducing himself to Frieza in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Gogeta (ゴジータ Gojīta) is the Metamoran fusion of Goku and Vegeta when they perform the Fusion Dance properly. Wielding the combined and magnified strength of both Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta is an incredibly deadly warrior, and like his Potara counterpart Vegito, he is regarded as one of the most powerful characters in the entire Dragon Ball franchise.

Gogeta first debuted in Fusion Reborn as the final protagonist when Goku and Vegeta fused in Hell to defeat Super Janemba. He returned in Dragon Ball GT as a Super Saiyan 4 to battle Omega Shenron, but defused quicker than expected due to over-using too much power. He would then make his canonical debut in Broly as the film's final protagonist, similar to his role from Fusion Reborn.

Overview

Concept and Creation

Gogeta first appeared in the 1995 movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn and was designed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro. An iteration of him appeared in Dragon Ball GT and was designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. His first canon debut was years later in Broly, in which his new traits were a result of Akira Toriyama's attempt at adding him into the "Dragon Ball canon".[3]

Appearance

In general, as a fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta is a combination of their characteristics, retaining Goku's tall physique and Vegeta's stern facial features. His base form's hair is jet-black, and his hairstyle primarily resembles Vegeta's, though Gogeta's hair is longer and wider, sporting an additional bang from his forehead, while retaining Vegeta's widow's peak (though not in Dragon Ball Super: Broly). He has the same tan skin tone as Vegeta. His Metamoran outfit also differs across various media: in Fusion Reborn and Dragon Ball GT, his outfit is composed of the standard black vest and black wristbands along with unique reddish-orange padding and a dark blue belt and leg bands, while in Broly and Super Dragon Ball Heroes, his padding and belt and leg bands match the standard yellow and teal colors, respectively. In Dragon Ball GT, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta's hair closely resembles Super Saiyan 4 Goku's, though it resembles Vegeta's hair in the back, and his hair is bright red, and his fur is dark reddish-brown, unlike other Super Saiyan 4 users who generally have red fur and black hair.

Like most other fusions, Gogeta possesses a dual voice consisting of Goku and Vegeta's individual voices combined. In earlier Dragon Ball media and games, Goku's voice was made more dominant to differentiate him from Vegito, where Vegeta's voice was more dominant. Recently, both fusions have begun to sound much more similar to one another.

Personality

Much like Vegito, Gogeta is a composite personality of Goku and Vegeta, possessing several different traits from each fusee as well as unique traits of his own as a merged individual.

Dragon Ball Z

In Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, Gogeta is shown to be a confident, cold and relatively silent character, boldly proclaiming himself as Janemba's end at first but then ruthlessly eliminating him with little to no words spoken afterwards. This differs him from Vegito, who enjoys taunting and humiliating opponents as well as prolonging battles to inflict as much punishment as possible, whereas Gogeta seeks to eviscerate his opponents as quickly as possible, a unique trait from his fusees due to his their Saiyan DNA typically holding them back from ending fights immediately.

Gogeta was shown chuckling after scaring Saike Demon at the end of Fusion Reborn, suggesting he is not as cold as he comes off. In several Dragon Ball games, his personality draws mostly from the cheerful and energetic Goku to differentiate him from Vegito.

Dragon Ball GT

In Dragon Ball GT, Gogeta's personality is much closer to Vegito's than before, as he is willing to toy with Omega Shenron by using absurd pranks to enrage the Shadow Dragon and was highly confident in his power to destroy Omega despite ultimately defusing unexpectedly due to strained fusion time. Despite this, his taunts are not empty and pointless, as he was able to goad Omega to launch his Negative Karma Ball and subsequently purified it to disperse the negative energy surrounding Earth; after doing so, Gogeta does become much more serious and attempts to destroy Omega posthaste.

Dragon Ball Super and Super Dragon Ball Heroes

Gogeta's personality is composed of traits from all of his previous incarnations, as well as drawing upon more traits from Goku and Vegeta than before. In battle, he is shown using both of Goku and Vegeta's signature poses.

In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Gogeta is shown retain much of his cool confidence, taking time to pick a "cool" name for himself before immediately setting out to fight Broly. He retains Goku's benevolent and respectful nature, sparing Broly after witnessing Shenron transport him off Earth and remove his threat to the planet, as well as preventing Frieza from blasting Cheelai and Lemo out of the sky in their retreat, deciding to even spare Frieza himself rather than outright killing him. In addition, he seeks to enjoy his battles to a degree, and like his GT counterpart, is visibly shown smiling during combat. Conversely, Gogeta retains Vegeta's aggressive and mocking attitude (much like Vegito), and moreso his Fusion Reborn incarnation's silent, ruthless battle style, not giving Broly any time to breathe or recover during their fight and putting him at death's door with ease while avoiding drawing the battle out at the same tie. Against Hearts and the Crimson-Masked Saiyan, Gogeta displayed the same mix of confidence and seriousness, declaring superiority over his opponents and taunting them into striking first before easily overpowering them in a cold, ruthless fashion. During his fight with Hearts in particular, he states that he does not care about the Omni Kings' stranglehold on the multiverse, preferring to live his life as he pleases rather than totally concern himself with the whims of the supreme. He also believes himself to be a "cheat code" of sorts, joking that using fusion at peak condition is overkill for his opponents.[4]

Other Media

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, both Gogetas are intrigued by the prospect of fighting Vegito as well as each other, eager to put their varying forms and fusion styles to the test. In addition, they are very much aware of their overwhelming power, calling Gogeta and Vegito being on the same team "unfair". Both Gogetas also retain Goku and Vegeta's concerns about Gohan's daily regimen, telling him he'd be able to keep up if he continued to train.

Despite the nature of his Fusion Dance, Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta shares his fusees' low opinion of Videl & Gohan's Great Saiyaman poses.

Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta appears to greatly enjoy the Fusion Dance, recommending it to Kefla as well as Tien (w/Yamcha). He seems to be very cheerful in interactions with fellow members of the Dragon Team, thanking Android 17 in particular after realizing he is nothing like the villainous Super 17.

"The Saiyans? They're here. I am they - we are one. Unfortunately for you, Omega!"
— Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta to Omega Shenron in "Super Saiyan 4 Fusion"

Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta laughing at Omega Shenron.

Goku and Vegeta found themselves struggling to fight Omega Shenron, who wielded the combined might of the Shadow Dragons and threatened the universe's destruction. Even with both using Super Saiyan 4, Vegeta realized they could not defeat Omega, and suggested performing the Fusion Dance to Goku, who laughed at the prospect of the normally fusion-reluctant Vegeta providing the idea. With the help of the Dragon Team distracting Omega, Goku and Vegeta performed the Fusion Dance, bringing forth Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. With such a colossal increase in power, Gogeta easily overpowered Omega Shenron, using attacks far too fast for the Shadow Dragon to see and humiliating him at his leisure, goading Omega into trying to use the Minus Energy Power Ball to destroy the Earth in desperation. Before it could hit the Earth, however, Gogeta kicked it skyward, infusing some of his positive energy into it as he did to purify the technique. As the "Plus Energy Power Ball" broke past the atmosphere, the resulting explosion completely dispersed the negative energy effects of the Shadow Dragons upon the planet.

With only Omega left in the way of Earth's protection, Gogeta prepared to obliterate him with a Big Bang Kamehameha. The sheer power of the energy stream was enough to force all but Omega's original Dragon Ball from him, leaving him barely alive. However, because of Gogeta's tremendous power, his fusion time limit had been reduced to an unprecedented ten minutes, and an attempt at a second Big Bang Kamehameha caused him to defuse prematurely. Omega Shenron was later defeated by Goku's Super Ultra Spirit Bomb.

"Let's have some fun, Hearts!"
— Gogeta to Hearts in "The Ultimate Godslayer! Hearts is Born!"

File:Hearts vs Gogeta.jpg

Gogeta faces Hearts.

In the anime, finding themselves overwhelmed in the face of Ultimate Godslayer Hearts' power, Goku and Vegeta opt to fuse into Gogeta in the hopes they can match his strength. After his fusion succeeds, in the anime, Gogeta disregards Hearts' claim of superiority and simply smirks, voicing his desire to have some fun and then transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue, approaching Hearts and throwing a punch that Hearts initially catches but ends up taking full force when Gogeta powers through to land the punch. Hearts is forced to power up further and the two engage in combat. Gogeta quickly displays the advantage, dodging multiple of Hearts' gravity-augmented punches before redirecting the force of one back into Hearts' shoulder, dealing significant damage. With the Godslayer retreating behind a barrage of energy blasts, Gogeta closes the gap to deliver another punch, then fakes Hearts out with a flying knee to use his other knee to land a hard blow.

File:SDBH 18-8.png

Gogeta face to face with the God Meteor.

After Gogeta lands the attack on Hearts, the Godslayer compliments his strength and even attempts to persuade Gogeta to join him in his fight against Zeno for the true freedom of mankind, declaring that despite Gogeta's increase in power, the fusion still falls short in comparison to him. Gogeta replies that Hearts is the one who doesn't understand, retorting that he already has his freedom and that he is, in fact, stronger than Hearts. Hearts laughs off the claim and tells Gogeta that his choice is pathetic. Floating higher in the air, Hearts then summons a God Meteor into Earth's atmosphere and begins to launch it down to the ground below where everyone is immobilized but Gogeta who stands between it and devastation.

The fused warrior launches a tremendously large Big Bang Attack to hold off the God Meteor, actually stopping it in its tracks before Hearts further increases the attack's power and sends it hurtling back down at Gogeta, who counters with a Kamehameha. With neither side showing any sign of weakness, Jiren and Hit suddenly rise to assist Gogeta, greatly empowering the Kamehameha with their own energy and giving it the power to completely shatter the God Meteor.

Gogeta destroys the Universe Seed

In one final clash, Gogeta rushes Hearts, both punching each other in the face with Gogeta breaking Hearts' visor, before he dodges the following punch and shatters the gem on his chest, his aura bursting through Hearts' body, releasing the Universe Seed's energy and causing Hearts to disintegrate. Before he completely disappears, though, Hearts tells Gogeta that the world was never truly free with someone like Zeno around, capable of obliterating the universe with one thought, and that he his goal was just to liberate the world from that lack of freedom. After praising Goku and Vegeta's (and Gogeta's by extension) ability to break their limits and expressing his fondness for mortal-kind, Hearts finally fades from reality, leaving Gogeta as the victor.

With the universes safe once again, Hit and Jiren question why Goku and Vegeta never bothered to fuse into Gogeta during the Tournament of Power due to his tremendous strength, though Gogeta comically defuses during his response and Vegeta finishes his statement by scoffing that he didn't want to fuse with a buffoon.

Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta about to battle Hearts

In the manga, however, after being overpowered by Ultimate Godslayer Hearts, Goku and Vegeta were initially unable to perform the Fusion Dance due to a gigantic gravity cube set by Hearts (who was launching the God Meteor at them) that was restricting and limiting their ability to move freely and lowering their chances to effectively align. Though Vegeta opted to use the Potara for an easier fusion method, Supreme Kai Fuwa had already given Kale and Caulifla his earrings prior. Without any other options, Goku and Vegeta were forced to perform the Fusion Dance. Fortunately, Jiren and Hit - who were also trapped in the same gravity cube - bought the duo time, with the former unleashing his Super Full Power and using his ki to repel the gravitational force and allow Goku and Vegeta to move, and the latter confronting Hearts himself and using Time-Skip and Time Prison to stall the Godslayer out. This allowed the Super Saiyan Blue Saiyans to fuse and Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta successfully took form.

Gogeta proves to have a notable advantage over Hearts, saving Hit in the nick of time after being summoned through the Fusion, quickly stepping in to take on Hearts instead and calmly asking him to show him the power of the Universe Seed he is so proud of.

File:Gogeta beating Hearts.jpg

Gogeta sends a barrage of blows and kicks at Hearts

Gogeta quickly begins asserting an overwhelming advantage, uppercutting Hearts immediately before following up with a hammer fist that Hearts, despite hearing the fusion's mind call out the attack, can't seem to dodge in time, with Gogeta's consecutive kicking barrage being no different. With the Godslayer noticeably taking some damage and his stamina seemingly depleting, Gogeta demonstrates his superiority over Hearts by simply mocking his inability to keep up with him, despite his heart-reading power. Fuming, Hearts quickly powers up to the full extent of his Ultimate Godslayer form and launches an array of gravity cubes at Gogeta, who effortlessly evades them until one catch him and expands into a Gravity Prison, allowing the other cubes to detonate on the fusion - though Gogeta emerges unharmed.

Hearts begins to monologue on how Gogeta fails to understand his ideals, that the gods of the universe have created a limitation on the world as beings who can destroy reality on a whim and attempts to explain that leaving things the way they are is detrimental for mortal kind. Gogeta, however, cuts him off mid-sentence and says that he's done trying to listen to Hearts and has no interest in understanding the Godslayer's ideals anyway, doubting that his goals will ever be achieved with the current power he has against him.

"I got no interest in trying to understand your ideals! Besides, I doubt your ambitions could've been fulfilled with that kind of power. And for the record...I live my life as I please!"
— Gogeta to Hearts during their battle in "Super Showdown! Gogeta vs Hearts"

File:SDBHUC12-05.png

Gogeta destroys the God Meteor

Gogeta then fires the Limit Ultra Kamehameha at both Hearts and the God Meteor, dealing colossal damage to both. As Hearts is engulfed by the blast, he comments that though he finds mortals pitiful, he ought to save them and hope they find peace but is eventually shocked that Gogeta even managed to shatter the God Meteor that he initially sent toward Earth. Though Hearts believes the outcome hasn't changed due to the chunks of the shattered God Meteor raining down upon Earth, Gogeta reveals that his allies are fully capable of obliterating the meteor chunks before they can land, reminding Hearts of his love for mortals and declaring that they are not as weak as he thinks. Soundly defeated, Hearts crumbles to dust, admitting that mortals may in fact be strong enough to defy the fate the gods have given them. With the defeat of all the Core Area Warriors and the universe safe once again, Gogeta eventually defuses back to Goku and Vegeta, who reunite with their allies.

"Crimson: You merged, huh? Yet your power is no match for a god!
Gogeta: Is that so?
"
— "Final Battle in the Pseudo Universe! Clash of Blue and Crimson"

Gogeta's re-emergence in Super Saiyan Blue

In the anime, during the fight against the Crimson-Masked Saiyan Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Controlled Berserk) Vegeta initially outclasses the rogue god's Super Saiyan Rosé 3 form. However, Crimson is able to siphon Goku's energy and drop him out of Ultra Instinct, displaying his ability to manipulate the whole of the Pseudo Universe's energy, attain his full-power state and subsequently overpower Vegeta when he attempts to finish Crimson off. Finding no other option, Goku and Vegeta fuse into Gogeta Blue and charge Crimson with a hard blow to the face.

File:SSGSS Evolved Gogeta confronting Crimson.png

Gogeta's Evolution

The attack's damage is rejuvenated by Crimson's augmented Rosé energy, and Crimson claims that even with fusion, the two will still be inferior in power to him. Gogeta replies that he'll just have to see about that and immediately begins overpowering Crimson, dodging his initial punch and retaliating with a kick to his back, following up with two delayed Energy Punches before taking it up to Blue Evolved and using rapid-fire punches to send Crimson flying into a building. Golden Frieza, noticing the fight, realizes that the two Saiyans in Gogeta are evolving.

Crimson is anguished that even his healing ability can't keep up with Gogeta's awesome power and grows furious at the prospect of being defeated by a mortal, charging him blindly. Gogeta swiftly dodges the attack to shatter Crimson's mask with a final strike of his own, causing him to rupture with purple energy and disintegrate in Hakai-like fashion. Victorious, Gogeta then defuses back into Goku and Vegeta.

File:SDBH BB 12 01.png

Gogeta catches Crimson-Masked Saiyan's attack

In the manga, Gogeta first appears in base form to challenge Crimson. After getting the Warrior in Black Clothes to safety and verifying that he isn't "Kakarot", he declares he will take Crimson down. Crimson responds by calling him "one rude mortal" and attempts to pierce him with a Violent Fierce God Slicer, but Gogeta catches the technique between his fingers, snarks that it was a "close one", goes Super Saiyan Blue and shatters the blade. Claiming it's now his turn, Gogeta teleports behind Crimson and lightly taps him on the shoulder, dealing colossal damage and sending Crimson careening into a boulder. Before Crimson can get up, he is swiftly bifurcated by Gogeta's Spirit Excalibur.

The Warrior in Black Clothes is impressed that Gogeta was able to take Crimson down in an instant, and Gogeta remarks he feels bad that he defeated him so quickly, even though he was told not to take his time. Crimson then appears to slash him from behind (though Gogeta dodges), claiming there are no worries due to his "immortality", which leaves Gogeta confused, as he remembers that Future Zamasu, not Goku Black, possessed an immortal body. Before he can continue to dwell on it, Gogeta notices Crimson in the Kamehameha-charging stance. The rogue god blasts at Gogeta, but Gogeta calls his Kamehameha a cheap imitation and responds with "a real Kamehameha", utterly overpowering Crimson's blast and engulfing him.

Once again, Crimson is able to hold out with his "immortality", additionally achieving his Full Power in the process. Warrior in Black deduces that Crimson had been using energy to keep himself alive, which Crimson confirms to them both. He explains that the battle energy produced in the Pseudo Universe allows him to continue regenerating, and that thanks to the Saiyan Power of Goku's body, he is additionally able to gain incredible increases in strength (Warrior in Black speculating that the limits of Goku's body were increased by Zamasu's mind inhabiting it). Crimson then fires a Trap Shooter at Gogeta, who easily evades the blasts and responds that he can overwhelm Crimson's "immortality" if he can run him out of energy. The fusion fighter fires off a series of punches that damage Crimson, who warps behind Gogeta to knock him into another floating rock.

File:Gogeta Evolved Manga.png

Gogeta about to put the hurt on Crimson

Crimson attempts to impale him with his energy blade, but Gogeta dodges it by rushing him alongside the blade, kicking Crimson in the face. Gogeta dodges Crimson's retaliatory ki blasts and repeatedly blasts him and slices him with a Spirit Sword, but Crimson's healing powers are able to keep him in the game. Noting that Crimson's regeneration energy isn't going down at all, Gogeta remarks that he himself doesn't have much longer to fight, so he will reveal the results of his training. Unleashing a bright, supermassive aura, Gogeta transforms into Blue Evolved, Crimson astounded at his shining ki. Making a slight movement with his fist, Gogeta deals Crimson a single-yet-catastrophic blow that is too fast for the rogue god to see and instantly overtaxes his regeneration energy. The infuriated Crimson declares he will never forgive the mortal for striking him, but Gogeta replies that he doesn't need his forgiveness and that it all ends here. Right then, he defuses back into Goku and Vegeta, an opportunity Crimson rushes to take advantage of, but the Warrior in Black Clothes rejoins the battle to combine his blast with Goku's Kamehameha and obliterate the Crimson-Masked Saiyan once and for all.

Gogeta and Xeno Gogeta, the miraculous duo

Gogeta once more returns in Super Saiyan God SS Evolved alongside his Limit Broken Xeno counterpart, prepared to confront the young Fu. The two fire a barrage of blasts at the chaotic scientist, who in turns powers up further to defuse the two with a blast of darkness. Before the unfused pairs of Goku and Vegeta can get their bearings, Fu quickly sucks the Vegeta's into a dark vortex to prevent any more fusion from occurring, but the Goku's receive support from Chronoa.

Gogeta

Super Gogeta's first appearance.

The fearsome Janemba is defeated by Super Saiyan 3 Goku's powerful technique, but quickly mutates into a new, much deadlier form - Super Janemba - and quickly asserts his newfound advantage over Goku, even with the recently deceased Vegeta helping him against the demon. With no other option, Goku decides to have Vegeta learn the Fusion Dance so they can merge together to defeat Super Janemba. Despite Vegeta's initial reluctance, he agrees after the two narrowly escape Janemba's assault. The Fusion Dance must be performed correctly to create a very powerful symbiotic warrior, so when Vegeta fails to extend his index finger properly in the final step of the dance, this results in a much weaker fusion warrior named Veku.

Veku is no match for Janemba, and for thirty minutes he frantically evades the demon's attacks in comical fashion, clumsily stumbling and passing gas as part of his defense. Once Veku defuses, Goku and Vegeta make another attempt, but are halted by Janemba chasing them down. However, Goku's ally Pikkon steps in to distract the demon, giving Goku and Vegeta time to perform the Fusion Dance properly. The world is engulfed in a brilliant light resembling a galaxy, and as the light clears, the dance is revealed to have been a success - Super Gogeta is born. Declaring his intent to annihilate Super Janemba, he quickly overwhelms him with an astounding display of speed and power, then blasts him into oblivion with the Stardust Breaker. With the elimination of the negative energy that had created Janemba, the creature reverts into the young ogre, Saike Demon, who runs off in fear after he makes eye contact with Gogeta, who laughs as the Saike Demon flees. Later, Goku and Vegeta defuse and bid farewell to each other for the time being.

Gogeta is born during Goku and Vegeta's desperate attempts to fuse to gain the upper hand on Super Saiyan Broly. The two Saiyans fail twice before succeeding, and their new fusion wastes a bit of time trying to think of a different name other than Vegito, since that was the name for their Potara counterpart. A miffed Piccolo yells at the fusion to hurry him along, at which point he decides on "Gogeta" and uses Instant Transmission to return to the battlefield. Upon doing so, he confronts a battered Golden Frieza, who demands to know who Gogeta is. Gogeta replies that he is the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, explaining to the tyrant that he far exceeds than their power combined and that he'll deal with him later. He teleports again to halt Broly's battle with Whis, telling the angel that he can handle it from here. Whis, impressed by their unique blend of teamwork, lets Gogeta resume the fight for him. The fusion beckons for Broly to attack, which Broly easily complies with, though Gogeta immediately displays a clear advantage over the berserk Saiyan, effortlessly dodging and blocking nearly all of his attacks.

Soon enough, Gogeta decides to turn Super Saiyan to continue the battle, fighting evenly with Broly until his Super Kamehameha connects with Broly's Gigantic Omegastorm, shattering reality itself and sending the two into an entirely different dimension, where Broly powers up into his Legendary Super Saiyan form. After being briefly overwhelmed, Gogeta responds by unleashing Super Saiyan Blue, once more assuming a gigantic domineering advantage over Broly and clashing until they break back into the real world. Gogeta continues dodging and blocking Broly's attacks, flipping over his Gigantic Breath and battering him from behind with God Punisher before seemingly finishing the berserker with a Stardust Breaker, dealing significant damage that Broly recovers from thanks to his overwhelming stamina and defense. Gogeta smirks, but notices the appearance of Shenron and quickly changes his attitude. Broly rises from the crater left by the Stardust Breaker, drastically powering up and desperately trying to damage Gogeta in any way, but the fusion's unprecedented and overwhelming strength leaves Broly beaten badly. He kicks him around, sliding past Broly's massive beam to pummel him further and unleash his Meteor Explosion attack point-blank, creating a huge mushroom cloud and severely wounding the berserk Saiyan. Even the spectating Whis voices his admiration of Gogeta's strength, declaring the Saiyans' fight as good as finished.

With Broly beaten back into consciousness, now terrified of his opponent's killing intent and overwhelming aura, Gogeta begins to charge the Limit Ultra Kamehameha, while a frantic Cheelai makes a wish on Shenron to send Broly back to the planet where she and Lemo found him. As the Kamehameha nears Broly, the Saiyan is warped to Vampa at the last second, leaving the energy wave to shoot off harmlessly into space. Gogeta is momentarily confused, but smiles and dispels his aura.

Almost immediately thereafter, he confronts Golden Frieza and prevents him from shooting down the small spacecraft that Cheelai and Lemo were using to leave Earth by catching his arm. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta arrives.

In the Third Anniversary Special story for Dragon Ball Legends, during the Tournament of Time, Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta and Nuova Shenron were battling against Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu.

The three battled against the rebellious deity but their efforts were futile. During the battle, Goku prompts Vegeta to fuse but Zamasu disrupts the two, until Super Saiyan Blue Vegito arrives, saving the three and prompting the chance for the two to fuse. With no time to waste, Goku and Vegeta fuse into Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta as the story ends.

The Greatest Showdown! A Transcendant Limit Break!

In the Fourth Anniversary Special Story for Dragon Ball Legends, during the Tournament of Time, Gogeta and Broly's fight is interrupted by the arrival of an Ultra Instinct Sign Goku and a Vegeta from before the climatic finale in the Tournament of Power, as well as a Super Full Power Jiren who did take part in the finale. While Broly makes a beeline for Goku, Gogeta takes the opportunity to confront Jiren for a "flashy" battle, presenting himself as a mysterious fighter from the future. When they clash, Gogeta has a clear advantage and Jiren is left staggered by Gogeta's seemingly limitless strength.

Just then, Goku's Ultra Instinct Sign depletes and Gogeta intercepts an attack from Broly to save him. Gogeta remarks that it was rotten luck for Goku's Ultra Instinct to run out like that, and Goku realizes Gogeta is from a period after the Tournament of Power due to his recognition of Ultra Instinct. Before Broly can attack Goku again, Jiren knocks the berserker aside and tells the past Goku to stand tall once more, speaking of the battle with his Goku. Gogeta agrees with Jiren, telling Goku that they both believe in him and urging him to perfect his Ultra Instinct.

Gogeta then takes off to resume his battle with Jiren, telling Goku not to take too long to figure it out. He easily tanks a powerful assault from the Pride Trooper, telling him he knows he can do better than that. Broly soon joins them in a three-way showdown. Meanwhile, Vegeta gives his energy to Goku much like in the original story, likewise telling him to break into the domain of the gods. Goku returns to face the trio, reflecting on the advice Gogeta, Jiren and Vegeta, all gave him before powering up into Ultra Instinct Sign once more to fight Broly one-on-one. Gogeta notices Broly beginning to adapt even to Ultra Instinct Sign, which concerns him and Jiren. However, they both then notice Goku beginning to feel out the Perfected Ultra Instinct, taking note of his sharper strikes and accelerating battle spirit. Finally, they witness Goku perfect Ultra Instinct for the first time.

If Gogeta wins their battle, Vegito declares his power is unbelievable and that he won't lose the rematch. Gogeta reminds him that they can't have their rematch immediately, knowing his fusion time is nearly up. Vegito jokes that because of his infinite fusion time (at the time Potara Fusion had not been given its one-hour time limit for mortals), he wins by default, with Gogeta replying that's not fair. If Vegito wins their battle, Gogeta wonders aloud how Vegito would explain himself to Chi-Chi and Bulma afterwards, leaving his Potara counterpart flabbergasted. Gogeta chuckles that they could be one big, happy family, but Vegito isn't so sure about that.

Tenkaichi Tag Team

Gogeta only appears in a What-If scenario as, during the Buu Saga, the player is able to choose if Goku and Vegeta are going to fuse through the Potara earrings or the Fusion Dance in order to defeat Super Buu after he absorbs Gohan.

Power

Gogeta is one of the most powerful fusions in the entire series. Alongside Vegito, Fused Zamasu, and Kefla.

Manga and Anime

Super Buu (Gohan absorbed) believes that the Fusion Dance of Goku and Vegeta would be unable to defeat him. While inside Super Buu, Goku suggests to Vegeta that they fuse again through the use of the Fusion Dance, suggesting that the fusion's power would be capable of defeating Super Buu (without absorptions). Old Kai was skeptical at the idea of a Fusion Dance between Goku and Vegeta being able to defeat Kid Buu, while he believed Vegito would be sufficient.

In the Dragon Ball Super manga, Gogeta is able to overwhelm Full Power Super Saiyan Broly using his Perfected Super Saiyan Blue.

In Dragon Ball GT, Gogeta is shown to be able to effortlessly defeat Omega Shenron, who had previously made light work of Super Saiyan 4 Goku & Vegeta. According to Gogeta, he is capable of defeating Omega Shenron with a single finger if he wanted to. His ki control is so accurate, that he could change the nature of Omega's Negative Karma Ball into positive energy. As Gogeta took no damage from Omega Shenron's attacks, he was at least twice as strong as him.[5]

Despite his obvious superiority over Omega Shenron, Gogeta's power ends up being his own downfall as the fused Saiyan's massive strength wears down the technique's time limit.

Films

"Our two strengths aren't just added together; They're significantly magnified!"
— Gogeta explaining his power to Frieza in Dragon Ball Super: Broly

In Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, as Veku, he is able to survive a fight against Super Janemba for his full fusion timer, able to outrun him at several points despite being unable to do any damage. As Super Gogeta, the birth of his fusion resembled a galaxy and his aura sent massive ripples across the surface of Hell and temporarily darkened the atmosphere. His power was intense enough that Goten and Trunks could even sense his fusion from Earth. Upon his arrival, Gogeta was easily able to demolish and eradicate Janemba with Punisher Drive and Stardust Breaker without coming close to running out of fusion time. As Super Gogeta took no damage from Super Janemba's attacks, he was at least twice as strong as him.[5]

In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, after Goku is severely beaten by the God of Destruction Beerus in two blows, Goku concluded that even fusing with Vegeta probably would not be strong enough to beat Beerus (though Goku never specifies reference to Potara Fusion, the Fusion Dance, or both).

In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, base form Gogeta is able to effortlessly dodge attacks from the non-full power Legendary Super Saiyan Broly. In his own Super Saiyan state, Gogeta easily matches Broly blow for blow before soon overpowering him with his superior fighting prowess, maintaining the upper hand and landing powerful blows that visibly rattled and injured Broly while only being hit once. In fact, his Stardust Fall was strong enough to cause Broly agonizing pain, forcing him to activate an Energy Shield to repel it. The clash of their energy beams is so immensely powerful that the two Saiyans are able to break through space and time, sending them to a different dimension entirely. Even when Broly transformed into the Legendary Super Saiyan, Gogeta rapidly turned the tables with Super Saiyan Blue and proved to be able to decisively overpower the titanic foe, who was utterly unable to hit him. Gogeta's speed was such that Broly could not react to his attacks and after their initial exchange Broly was already exhausted while Gogeta had not lost stamina.[6] He consistently overpowered Broly in clashes, the collision that returned them to Earth forcing Broly back with the impact. Even after the berserker withstood Gogeta's incredible assault, Gogeta continued to pummel him with never-ending attacks, constantly breaking through Broly's defenses until he nearly killed Broly with his Ultimate Kamehameha, even shocking the berserker back into partial sanity in the process. His power was enough to earn the praise of Whis, deeming his attacks as "truly magnificent". After the major ordeal, Gogeta foils Golden Frieza's attempt to kill Cheelai and Lemo, with the space tyrant opting to retreat, knowing full well of the fused Saiyan's might.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes

In the anime version of the Universal Conflict Saga, when the combined might of Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Piccolo, Android 17, Hit and Jiren proved completely ineffective against Hearts in his Ultimate Godslayer form, Goku and Vegeta were prompted to fuse into Gogeta. In the manga version while Android 17 and Piccolo are not present against the final battle against Ultimate Godslayer Hearts, Hearts proved to dominate Goku, Vegeta, Hit and Jiren in his Ultimate Godslayer form, proving every single one of their attacks ineffective by repelling them and forcing a massive force of gravity on the 4 as to make them not be able to stand up to defend themselves as he fires a God Meteor on them forcing Goku and Vegeta to rely on the Fusion Dance to battle against Ultimate Godslayer Hearts. To give Goku and Vegeta enough time to move to perform the Fusion Dance within the time he can manage, Jiren powers up into his Super Full Power form and stands up, using his ki to repel the gravity that is restraining them while Hit uses his Time-Skip to sneak up behind Heart to put him in a Time Prison to distract and stall Heart for a brief moment, prompting Goku and Vegeta, already at Super Saiyan Blue, to successfully fuse into Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta.

In the midst of Gogeta's transformation into Super Saiyan Blue while in his base form in the anime, Gogeta's energy was intense enough to cause the gathered Z Fighters (including Hit and Jiren) to stumble back. In the anime upon his confrontation and engagement against Hearts in battle, the fused warrior proved to be more than a match for the foe, able to calmly dodge and repel everything Hearts launched at the fused warrior while simultaneously landing blows that visibly injured Hearts. Remaining completely unfazed by the power Hearts was using to summon his God Meteor, Gogeta was able to hold back the attack using a tremendous Big Bang Attack, forcing Hearts to power up to maximum. Though he seemed to only be able to match Hearts fully powered God Meteor with his Ultimate Kamehameha, his attack was primarily what destroyed (albeit with assistance from Hit and Jiren) it, and powering up to the max, he was able to swiftly defeat Hearts afterwards, overpowering Hearts' punch with his own in a trade-off and subsequently defeating him and shattering the Universe Seed with a second blow.

In the manga version, just as Hearts is preparing to attack Hit, Gogeta instead confronts Hearts and is fast enough to be able to simultaneously land a solid barrage of blows on Hearts, noticeably weakening and exhausting Hearts and confirming Gogeta’s superior strength and advantage over Hearts that even Gogeta casually looks at Hearts and remains unfazed. Enraged, Hearts decides to power up into the the full extent of his power that he obtained through the Universe Seed and fire cube projectiles at Gogeta only for Gogeta to effortlessly be able to dodge most of the cubes from hitting him until one of the cubes expands and was able to catch him off guard trapping him inside of a gravity prison and prompting the other cubic projectiles to hit him, causing an explosion. However, Gogeta comes out still unfazed and not physically injured from the explosion and proceeds to fire an Ultimate Kamehameha at Hearts, simultaneously engulfing Hearts with the God Meteor that Hearts fired toward Earth. In the manga version, Gogeta did not need assistance from Hit and Jiren and his Ultimate Kamehameha was strong enough to destroy the God Meteor by itself (which was much larger than its anime counterpart) and kill Hearts at the same time.

It is stated by Hearts that Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta has enough power to defeat Zeno. During the aftermath, Jiren goes on to ask Gogeta on why his fusees never fused into him during the Tournament of Power, implying that Gogeta would have been a massive threat to its contestants, including Jiren himself.

Later against the Crimson-Masked Saiyan, after the foe channeled enough energy from the Pseudo Universe to obtain his final form, Goku and Vegeta accepted that their combined efforts wouldn't be enough to face the foe. Upon fusing, Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta proved able to advantage over Crimson. When Crimson's advanced healing proved a problem, Gogeta used Super Saiyan Blue Evolved, able to inflict damage too fast and intense for Crimson to keep up with before finally being killed by the fused warrior.

Video games

In Dragon Ball Fusions, Super Gogeta is an A-Rank fusion making him weaker than Vegito (Base/Super Saiyan) who is an S-Rank. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is a G-Rank making him stronger than Vegito's base and Super Saiyan forms, and on par with the G-Rank Vegito Blue.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, when pitted against Beerus in a match, Beerus describes Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta's power as "amazing". Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, in turn, expresses confidence he might be able to win the fight.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Jiren claims that Gogeta (either in his Blue or 4 form) is his equal in battle. Gohan describes Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta's form as unlike Super Saiyan Blue or Ultra Instinct, and in the English version of the game adds that it is above anything else he had seen power-wise. Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta and Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta possess a Dramatic Finish which depicts them as being similar in power.

In Dragon Ball Legends, a what-if scenario sees Gogeta and Broly's fight from Broly interrupted by Super Full Power Jiren and Ultra Instinct Sign Goku. When fighting Jiren, Gogeta Blue easily outdoes him and Jiren wonders if there is no end to Gogeta's strength.

Statements by authors and guidebooks
File:GogetaBP(VJump).jpg

Super Gogeta's power level listed at 2,500,000,000

A 1995 issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump comparing Gogeta to Vegito stated that Fusion Dance is able to draw out more power compared to Potara, and as such Gogeta was stronger than his counterpart Vegito and would defeat Vegito in a fight that took less than thirty minutes, but Vegito would win in a longer battle.[7][8]

The resulting warrior from Potara fusion is more powerful than the equivalent Fusion Dance result,[5] thus Gogeta is weaker than his counterpart Vegito.

Gogeta and Vegito are equally-matched ultimate trump cards.[9]

Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is the strongest character in the Dragon Ball Z/GT universe.[10]

A 2004 V-Jump announcing his appearance in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 states that Super Gogeta's power level is around 2,500,000,000.

In the second Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File volume, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is said to be tens of times stronger than a regular Super Saiyan 4[11] (while Vegito from the Buu Saga is said to perhaps be in the league of a Super Saiyan 4 in the Chinese version of the anime comics for Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy).[12]

Gogeta is also stated by the second Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File volume, to be able to defeat Omega Shenron with one finger, as he claimed himself in the anime. It also says that Gogeta is "the mightiest warrior in all dimensions." Gogeta is then mentioned to be dozens of times stronger than Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta. Though the biggest claim is that his power is limitless. This is likely because in the first volume, Super Saiyan 4 is described as a form pushing the user to their uppermost limits, and Gogeta is a fusion of two Super Saiyan 4's, and therefore goes beyond the limits of either Saiyan individually. Super Saiyan 4 Goku himself states he has no limits, although there is no evidence to support this claim.

"Nobody's stronger than me, now!"

File:Veku 16.jpg

Veku, the failed fusion of Goku and Vegeta

Veku (ベクウ Bekū) is the failed version of Gogeta who occurred when Goku and Vegeta attempted to fuse for the first time. He is one of several failed fusions present in the series. Vegeta fails to extend his index finger, resulting in an embarrassingly weak fusion which forms a fat fighter called "Veku" by South Kai; a name that comes from Vegeta and Goku. In this form, his speed is decreased and ki is extremely limited. Because of his state, Veku does not perform any ki attacks due to the large drop in power. Also, due to his fat body, he does not retaliate by punching and kicking. Instead, all he does against Super Janemba is pass gas and escape using what he calls his Rabbit Feet Technique. Just like a regular fusion, the time duration is 30 minutes before the two fighters defuse. This type of failed fusion is also seen with Goten and Trunks during the Majin Buu Saga, forming Fat Gotenks when attempting to fuse for the first time.

Concept arts for a skinny Veku[15] are shown in Daizenshuu 6, in the Fusion Reborn area, but the character was not included in the final version of the movie. A skinny Veku card exists in Dragon Ball Carddass, released on March 22, 1995 (just after the release of Fusion Reborn on March 4, 1995). Skinny Veku is also in Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury, appearing when the player fails to do a proper fusion.

Veku makes two short appearances in Dragon Ball Super: Broly when Goku and Vegeta fail to perform the Fusion Dance properly the first time due to Goku's finger slipping below Vegeta's and the second time due to Goku being tilted at a 45-degree angle while Vegeta is tilted at a 60-degree angle.

Super Gogeta's appearance in Fusion Reborn.

Gogeta is referred to as Super Gogeta while in this form.

In Fusion Reborn, immediately after the successful fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta is at Super Saiyan as both halves (Goku and Vegeta) had previously mastered the transformation. Even though Janemba easily took care of Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, he was unable to even hurt Gogeta at all, with a full-force punch from Janemba to Gogeta's face not doing anything. In a matter of seconds, Gogeta was able to destroy Janemba without any problem whatsoever. Even while at this stage, he is still many times stronger than Goku as a Super Saiyan 3 and Vegeta as Super Saiyan 2.

As both of his fusion components can use Super Saiyan Blue, Gogeta himself is able to do so as well.

In Broly, Gogeta appears identical to Super Saiyan, only with dark-hued cyanic-blue hair and eyes with a vibrant, fiery, electric blue aura shaded by some purple. In the Heroes anime and trailers, Gogeta appears with the hair and irises are cyanic in color (albeit the irises change to a slightly darker color than the hair), and he possesses the standard vibrant blue aura with golden outlines overlapping the aura.

Super Saiyan God SS Evolved

"They're evolving yet again...!?"
Golden Frieza's reaction to Gogeta's recent Evolution.

Gogeta's strongest form in recent Dragon Ball media. Gogeta took on this transformation to battle the Crimson-Masked Saiyan in the final battle inside the Pseudo Universe and battle Fu alongside his Xeno counterpart.

In the game and manga, Gogeta's form appears like Vegeta's incarnation of the form in the anime, gaining darker blue hair, increased muscle-mass with visible veins when powering-up, visible dark pupils and a large blue aura. In the anime, his overall appearance gives off slight differences compared to the standard variation in which the hair taking on a shiny-tinted Blue hair with his eyes becoming akin to Ultra Instinct, At the same time, forming with a unique emission of silvery-golden smoke. When using techniques like the Dragon Dash, Gogeta attains a fierce surging silvery-golden colored aura with blue sparkles.

In this form, Gogeta proved far too much against the Crimson-Masked Saiyan, already outmatching him with the standard Blue form but completely dominating him in strength and speed with Blue Evolved, with even Crimson's rapid regeneration ability failing to keep up with Gogeta's attacks. In the anime, he is indicated to be on a similar level of power to Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Gogeta, who in the manga managed to impress Fu, though in both cases the Gogetas were instantaneously defused before they could dish out any actual damage.

Gogeta as a Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball GT

Gogeta's strongest form in Dragon Ball GT, where Goku and Vegeta both faced off against Omega Shenron as Super Saiyan 4. With the Fusion Dance, they successfully created the strongest warrior.

Unlike Vegeta and Goku's Super Saiyan 4 forms, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta has brown fur and fiery crimson hair, instead of the opposite, unique blue eyes and a enormous-sized fiery gold aura that shoot up through the sky along with unique emission of golden sparkles surrounding Gogeta.

Unlike his previous appearance in Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is somewhat playful and cocky (almost akin to Vegito's attitude), toying with Omega Shenron instead of easily defeating him. His speed in this form is so great that Omega Shenron cannot even see him move, and he could have annihilated the Shadow Dragon if his fusion timer hadn't run out.

In this form his hair gets a little bigger and sharper, a trait more noticeable in-game. His muscles also become more defined, and his aura increases in size and vibrancy, additionally generating electricity surrounding his body.

Due to both of his fusees possessing the form, Gogeta could have turned Super Saiyan 2 during his brief animated appearances, but he chose not to do so.

In this form, his hair extends down to his thighs in length while retaining his front bang. His eyebrows completely vanish, causing the forehead and eye ridges to become more prominent. Additionally, he gains increased muscle mass, similar to Goku's own Super Saiyan 3 form.

Due to one of his fusees possessing the form, Gogeta could have turned Super Saiyan 3 during his brief animated appearances, but he chooses does not do so.

In this form, Gogeta appears as a golden-furred Great Ape, retaining his front bang. His Metamoran clothing additionally stretches to match his increased size, similar to Saiyan armor.

Like Vegeta, Gogeta is apparently able to retain his complete mental clarity and by extension control of himself. He uses the Ultra Soul Punisher as a technique, which is the same as Stardust Breaker, only stronger.

Super Saiyan 4 Kaio-ken

Video Game Appearances

Gogeta first appears in Ultimate Battle 22, where he is erroneously referred to as Vegito and given the Final Kamehameha, despite only being formed by the Fusion Dance and not the Potara. He later makes his proper debut in Buu's Fury.

During the FighterZ Pass 2, SSGSS Gogeta appears as DLC for FighterZ. While Gogeta is in his SSGSS form by default, he depowers to regular Super Saiyan in his Dramatic Finish against Janemba. He can be seen using his Meteor Explosion in his Dramatic Finish against DBS Broly. In the FighterZ Pass 3, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta also appeared as DLC, with his 100x Big Bang Kamehameha potentially shearing through an enemy's entire health bar. Both versions of Gogeta boast a Dramatic Finish against each other, clashing Ultimate Kamehamehas and briefly shattering reality before one Gogeta defuses into his shocked fusions, while the other stands victorious. Although Super Gogeta never appears as a playable character in game, he can be unlocked as a lobby character.

As part of the Extra Pack 4 DLC, SSGSS Gogeta was added as a playable DLC character in Xenoverse 2. As part of the 1.15.00 Update DLC, Customization Unlock Key 5 can be randomly obtained as a Raid Reward which unlocks SSGSS Gogeta in Partner Customization giving him a Custom skillset that allows him to be customized. As part of the Legendary Pack 2 DLC, base Gogeta (DB Super) with Super Saiyan as his Awoken Skill transformation was added as a playable DLC character.

Trivia

File:Book intro.png

Gogeta drawn by Akira Toriyama

  • Similar to all the other fusions, his name is a portmanteau of his two hosts (Goku and Vegeta).
  • Gogeta has the largest personality changes through the course of the franchise. Compared to both his later incarnations, Fusion Reborn Gogeta never retained Vegeta's cockiness nor Goku's acts of mercy, and unlike the two counterparts, he finishes his opponents very quickly. In GT, he has a split personality. Throughout his battle with Omega Shenron, Gogeta is generally very cocky and playful, which is somewhat similar to Vegito except Gogeta seems to be more immature. In Super, while still extremely aggressive and serious like his Fusion Reborn counterpart, Gogeta still remains somewhat cocky, while also possessing new traits; instead of calling Goku by his human name, Gogeta refers to him as "Kakarot" despite using a name based on "Goku". Also, similar to Vegito, he is usually smiling during battles, and even uses Vegito's signature hand gesture to make enemies approach him.
    • In Vegito's case however, ironically, the personality changes are inverted somewhat; while Super Vegito is cockier, and prone to toying around, Vegito Blue (Super Saiyan Blue) is much more serious, and aggressive in combat, using a very different combo string than what he did previously.
  • Gogeta is the only fused Saiyan character (Potara or Fusion Dance) to successfully defeat a villain without the fusion wearing off. He defeats Janemba, Broly, Hearts and Crimson-Masked Saiyan without coming close to running out of time, whereas Gotenks defused and was later absorbed before he was able to defeat Super Buu, and Vegito pretended to be absorbed by Buu to save his friends, but the Fusion wore out before he could actually defeat Buu and Fused Zamasu.
    • While the Gogeta in GT defused before he could finish Omega Shenron, he later became a Time Patroller and fought a second battle against Omega, quickly emerging victorious and making up for failing to do so the first time.
  • Super Gogeta only has two lines in Fusion Reborn. His lines are: "Paikuhan, I'll get him back for you!" and "I am not Goku or Vegeta, I am the one who will defeat you!". In the Funimation dub, his lines are: "I am not Goku or Vegeta, I am Gogeta! It's over Janemba, I have come for you!" and "Every force you create has an echo. Your own bad energy will be your undoing!" Also, he smirks after Saike (who became Janemba) runs away after being defeated.
  • A fusion of Goku and Vegeta via the Fusion Dance is mentioned in the manga and anime when Goku and Vegeta are trapped in Buu's body. Goku suggests performing the dance in order to defeat Buu, but Vegeta declines, already knowing what it is and refusing to perform the poses or undergo any fusion at all.
    • However, in Broly, Vegeta is unaware of the dance until mentioned by Goku as he heard it from Trunks. He realizes what the dance is and refuses to perform the dance at first as he believes it’s moronic but decides to be taught the dance as he had no idea on how to perform the fusion in order to defeat Broly and protect his family.
  • In the English dub of Broly as well as later media, Gogeta sounds identical to Vegito and somehow retains Vegeta's English accent, while generally he's supposed to have Goku's accent instead as evident in mostly video games, especially Xenoverse 2. Despite this, the DLC 13 Base Gogeta still retains Vegeta's accent, nonetheless.
  • In the English dub of Broly, Sean Schemmel uses his voice for King Kai instead of Goku when Veku is formed.
  • Gogeta's base form first appears in Buu's Fury. When Gogeta is defeated in Buu's Fury, his hair turns black, like any Super Saiyan who is defeated.
  • In Raging Blast and in Dragon Ball Heroes, Gogeta has lightning surrounding his aura which is typical of the Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3 transformations. However, this might be in order to show Gogeta's power and should not be confused as a Super Saiyan 2 Gogeta. When Gogeta's aura charges in the game, it does not have the same sound effects as it would have on a Super Saiyan 2 or Super Saiyan 3.
  • A hidden audio file for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 shows that Gogeta can use the Kaio-ken.
  • Gogeta is the only fusion that has appeared in the main series to have been shown whilst "dead" as both of his fusees were currently deceased during the events of Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, proven with the halo above his head during his fight against Janemba.
  • Gogeta battling against Broly has appeared in a few medias even before the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, particularly in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 openings.
